A sustainable makers market is set to launch in Wandsworth town every month from October until Christmas.
The Makers Market hosted by Design LED, a London-based markets operator, will showcase fair trade and sustainable curations from a mixture of 30 British designers in Ram Quarter.
The markets will run from 11am to 4:30pm on the first Saturday of each month, starting 1 October, with two additional markets in place for the Christmas period.
Design LED founder Lee Wilson said: “We only work with sustainable businesses, which are British made and are fair trade products.
“We have got a good following of existing traders and we try to mix it up as much as possible.
“Locals go not just for the fact it is fair trade, but because they are interested in British brands there with nice designs and things you can’t find in shops.
“The market brings new and distinctive artisan products right to peoples doorsteps.”
Residents will have the chance to purchase many handmade and sustainable clothes, accessories, and artwork in the lead up to the Christmas period.
A local business in Brixton, Market Row Botanical Rum, will be returning to Design LED’s Makers Market selling their locally-produced bottled rum.
A new business coming arriving at Makers Market is Artemisa Natural, a natural hand-made skincare made from Rice.
The Market will be held in Bubbling Well Square and Ram Quarter’s main boulevard on 1 October, 5 November, and 3 December with two additional markets opening on 26 November and 17 December for Christmas.
Wilson said: “Ram Quarter is the perfect spot for us thanks to its stunning riverside location and heritage.”
Design LED have also held other markets in popular fashion and lifestyle hotspots such as Southwark’s Dulwich Village and Mayfair’s South Molton Street.
